Re-drafted Shot List for My Trailers (Possibly, the Theatrical Trailer)
I have re-drafted my shot list with one or two new ideas for shots to include in the different sections of my theatrical trailer - though, it is very likely that I will use many of these shots across both trailers.
First section:
- Extreme close up of alarm clock displaying 8:00 AM and the alarm going off
- Cut to protagonist's eyes snapping open - extreme close up to highlight his speediness
- Bird's-eye-view of protagonist pulling covers off - loose framing
- Ground level shot of feet hitting the floor
- Tracking shot of protagonist walking towards door
Cut directly to montage.
Second section (montage):
- Medium shot of protagonist doing press ups - front on
- Medium shot of protagonist doing sit ups - front on (shallow focus)
- Slow trucking shot of protagonist running on treadmill
- Long shot of chopping wood outside - loose framing
- Close up of axe hitting wood perfectly
- Medium shot of protagonist tossing chopped wood into a basket
- Close up of towel being picked up
- Medium close up of protagonist wiping sweat away from head and putting towel around neck
- Medium shot/over the shoulder shot of protagonist kneeling by a car, fixing the tyres with tools beside him - tight framing
- Medium close up of car being polished (reflection of his face seen)
Third section:
- Long shot of protagonist walking back into house
- Camera pans across photos by door of his family and pictures of him
- Cut to close up of milk being poured into coffee by coffee machine
- Medium shot of protagonist sitting at table reading newspaper
- POV shot of protagonist reading newspaper
- Close up on newspaper pages turning
- Close up of Ethan's hand writing numbers in sudoku puzzle
Fourth section:
- Enhanced sound effect of letter being posted through letterbox
- Whip pan/reaction shot of protagonist moving his head towards the door
- Long shot of protagonist walking towards the door (tracking shot)
- Close up of letter on floor
- Medium close up of protagonist picking up the letter - which reads private and confidential
- Close up of protagonist's confused face
- Over-the-shoulder shot of protagonist opening/reading letter
- POV shot close up on final words of letter ('you are our only hope' or 'your country needs you')
- Medium shot of protagonist pulling out his buzzing phone
- Close up of phone screen which says (private line)
- Close up on protagonist's face as muffled noise on phone is heard 'did you get the letter' and the protagonist replies 'yes I got it'
- Final line on phone says 'you are our last hope' or 'Ethan, your country needs you' and then close up on phone screen as he ends the phone call
Fifth section:
- POV shot of protagonist opening special drawer and pulling out his urgent gear
- Medium close up of the content inside (weapons, sunglasses, ear pieces, hat)
- Close up of Ethan's face scanning the contents
- Close up of Ethan grabbing the gun
- Medium shot of Ethan slipping his gun into the holster
- Close up of protagonist putting cap and sunglasses on
- Long shot of protagonist grabbing coat from draw, putting coat on and exiting the house rapidly
Cuts to black.
