Analysing Action Film Posters - 'Gunner'

 The second action film poster I am going to look at is for the film 'Gunner'.

The poster contains the following typical conventions of the action genre:

• Iconography typical of action genre (military costumes, guns, helicopters, explosions)
• Scratched sans serif font suggests the film is action packed and intense 
• Short snappy title
• Tagline suggests the film is action packed and there is some sort of revenge plot
• One word film name evokes urgency and danger (reinforced by the shooting target on the poster)
• Cast known for being in other action films
• Reference to another action film from the same director 
• Dark colour palette emphasise intensity of film
• Intense facial expressions
