Comparing Social Media Pages - 'Nosferatu'
'Nosferatu' has social media pages for Instagram, Facebook and X and I will be looking at how they are presented and the typical conventions of social media pages.
As 'Nosferatu' is a recent release it has any behind the scenes videos with the cast and crew as they answer questions and give reasonings for audiences. Additionally, there are lots of clips from the film which excite the audience and make them aware of the film's genre. In their bio (as well as their recent posts) they are advertising their film to audiences as the film is still available in theatres but also people can buy/rent the film which has the extended version on it, therefore it excites audiences more and makes them want to buy it and maybe watch it again. They also have links to their soundtrack and shop which is in their bio ands they post on their story regularly in relation to this.
The facebook page for 'Nosferatu' is very similar to the Instagram page, for instance, many clips/photos from the film as well as reviews and nominations. There is also a big image banner at the top which is the main poster for the film. However, on this page the main focus is on interviews/discussions with the cast but especially with the crew, as there are many videos of the director explaining reasons for certain things he did. This could be because the film is a revamp of the original 'Nosferatu' which was released in 1922, therefore the director is attempting to keep the feel of the film the same but make the experience for the viewers next level.
The X page for 'Nosferatu' is very similar to the other social media pages as most of the same posts are available to view on their X page. However, many of the posts on their X page are reposts from other pages that they want to put on their page so others can see. For example interviews the director had with Rotten tomatoes or Criterion Collection. Additionally, in their bio they make reference to the independent production company that helped distribute the film (focus features), but also like 'Dune: Part Two's X page they have a link in their bio which takes people to their website. Their website has many features including, allows people to see where the film is playing, where they can buy the film but also a few names of cast and crew and some of their official merchandise.
All the social media pages for 'Nosferatu' promote similar clips, photos and information about the film, however, the layout for each is slightly different as they all follow the conventions of their platform. It is clear what genre the film is based of the iconography of the posts and the colours used around their pages reinforce this. Additionally, the social media pages for the film reflect how much film has changed as the advertising done for 'Nosferatu' on Instagram, X and Facebook have created a big hype for the film even if people aren’t aware that this film is a revamp of the original.
